Important Update for Customers In The EU & Northern Ireland
The new GSPR regulations, which came into force on December 13th, means we won't be able to post to these regions for the time being.
We are doing extensive reading on whether our handmade jewellery, greeting cards and gifts are covered in the legislation and how to be compliant with these latest changes.
Until it's all fully understood, l'm afraid we have no choice but to suspend deliveries to these destinations. We also have to find an EU representative to vouch for us if we wish to send our products there and the costs of this are absolutely mind blowing to say the least.
Our European and Northern Ireland customers are import to us and make up a significant portion of our client base, so this is not a decision we have taken lightly. I hope you understand our deep regret in having to do this but It is important we are compliant with all countries regulations.
While we understand the principles of this new legislation, as with all things 'red tape' nothing is simple and it is ultimately our customers who looses out. Ironically enough, this legislation was partly brought in to limit the amount of ‘unfit for purpose’ goods available from certain large online shopping websites but it is actually small businesses like ours that it affecting the most.
Many small businesses, makers, artisan and artists are having to do the same, please be patient with us and other independent businesses while we figure out the changes needed. As with most small business we cannot afford the risk the astronomical fines the EU have placed.
Should any of European Union and Northern Ireland customers need any assistance in the mean time please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
Again, our sincerest apologies and our kindest Regards,
Tim
